SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES (K-12)   

  • EdChoice Scholarship Program – All K-12 families are eligible to apply and could benefit based on either income (EdChoice Expansion) or residency (Traditional EdChoice).
     

  • Ohio Christian Education Network Scholarship Granting Organization (OCEN SGO) - As part of the Ohio Christian Education Network, Genoa Christian Academy K-12 students may apply for a tuition scholarship. These scholarships are funded through the generous gifts of members of our school community to make Christian education possible.

While all students at Genoa Christian Academy are eligible to apply for and receive a scholarship, awards will be prioritized for students from families who demonstrate a financial need. Award amounts may vary. Email scholarships@genoachristianacademy.org for more information. 


NOTE: EdChoice Scholarships apply towards tuition only. Parents/Guardians are responsible for paying any application fees, annual fees, incidental fees, and any balance of tuition not covered by the scholarship. 

EdChoice traditional scholarship

The EdChoice Tradtional Program provides students from designated public schools the opportunity to attend participating private schools. The program also provides students who are entering kindergarten through 12th grade scholarship opportunities based on different eligibility criteria.

EdChoice EXPANSION SCHOLARSHIP

The EdChoice Expansion scholarship is an income-based scholarship and is a tiered scale of scholarships that are calculated based on your family income (typically your Adjusted Gross Income on your tax return) and the number of people living in your home. There is NO income limit to be eligible to receive a portion of the scholarship.  All K-12 GCA students are eligible for some scholarship money. There is no maximum income Please go to the Expansion Fact Sheet for more information on the eligibility criteria.

Note: Families that are BELOW the 200% poverty level, will have to re-verify income every year their student is enrolled. All other families may choose to re-verify income if there has been a significant change in income or change in household members.

HOW to apply(New families)

Step 1: Apply to Genoa Christian Academy. Your child must be accepted for enrollment BEFORE applying for the EdChoice Scholarship.

Step 2: Fill out an EdChoice Scholarship Request Form below and submit it to Genoa Christian Academy along with a copy of the student’s birth certificate and a current (within 90 days) utility bill detailing your service address. Custody documents will also need to be submitted if applicable.
 

  • This form and supporting documents can be brought directly to the main offices (Upper Academy or Lower Academy).
     

  • This form and supporting documents can also be scanned and submitted to scholarships@genoachristianacademy.org. High quality photos of the documents are acceptable.
     

  • The school will submit your request form to the State of Ohio on your behalf.
     

Step 3: Verify your Income with the State of Ohio
 

  • Upload income verification documents to the OH|ID website.
     

  • You will receive a scholarship award based on your family’s Adjusted Gross Income.

HOW to apply(rE-ENROLLING families)

Step 1: Complete the re-enrollment process
 

Step 2: fill out an EdChoice Scholarship Renewal Form below and submit it to Genoa Christian Academy along with a copy of a current (within 90 days) utility bill detailing your service address.
 

  • This form and supporting documents can be brought directly to the main offices (Upper Academy or Lower Academy).
     

  • This form and supporting documents can also be scanned and submitted to scholarships@genoachristianacademy.org. High quality photos of the documents are acceptable.
     

  • The school will submit your request form to the State of Ohio on your behalf.

What's next?

After you have submitted your request/renewal form along with all other documents, the school will submit those to the State of Ohio. Once it is processed and accepted, the State of Ohio will notify families when applications are approved. This message will also contain information about your scholarship amount.

Upon notification of approval from the State of Ohio, you will receive an acceptance form that must be completed and returned to Genoa Christian Academy.
