While Genoa Christian Academy utilizes various curriculum resources from Glencoe, Houghton Mifflin, Prentice Hall, Summit Ministries, ACSI and Positive Action, all of our classes are centered on the authority of God’s Word and infused throughout with Biblical truth. Our classrooms promote critical thought and a global view of the world as students are taught to engage the world with Biblical truths and action.

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS
The Aaron J. McGruder Fund was established with the support of Aaron’s parents, James and Esther McGruder, to honor their son’s life, faith, and love of learning. Aaron passed away in 2018 after a nearly ten-year battle with peritoneal mesothelioma. Throughout his illness, his faith in Jesus Christ, positive outlook, determination, and the support of his wife and family remained a powerful part of his story. Aaron was an excellent student and lifelong learner who especially loved history. A Kentucky Governor’s Scholar, he earned bachelor’s degrees in both computer science and mathematics from Northern Kentucky University. Because education meant so much to Aaron, his family wanted his legacy to create opportunities for children facing difficult circumstances. They began the Millennium 5K Race to raise funds for students who had experienced the loss of a parent or other significant hardships. Today, Genoa Christian Academy is honored to continue Aaron’s legacy through the Aaron J. McGruder Fund. The fund provides financial assistance to GCA families experiencing unexpected hardships such as the death or serious illness of a loved one or unforeseen financial instability, helping students remain part of the GCA community during challenging seasons. Aaron was also a devoted Star Wars fan and, in the words of his family, a positive “force” for good in the lives of those around him. Through this fund, his passion for education, generosity, and encouragement will continue to impact future generations. It is our hope that the Aaron J. McGruder Fund will help GCA students and families overcome unexpected challenges and give students the opportunity to continue learning, growing, and reaching for the stars.
The Mackenzie Lundquist Fund was established in memory of Mackenzie Lundquist, a gifted cheerleader and beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was marked by kindness, determination, and a gentle spirit. Mackenzie was born and raised in Westerville, Ohio, and cherished the opportunity to receive a Christian education. She cheered throughout her school years and into college, and cheerleading remained an important part of her life. Following her passing in July 2023 at the age of 27, her family chose to honor her memory by creating a fund at Genoa Christian Academy that would help students experience Christian education, meaningful mentorship, and opportunities to participate in cheerleading. The Mackenzie Lundquist Fund is used at the discretion of Genoa Christian Academy to support students through programs and opportunities that reflect Mackenzie’s interests and legacy. The Fund Helps Support *Cheerleading Scholarships — Helping students participate in cheerleading when financial costs may otherwise create a barrier. Funds are used directly by GCA for approved expenses and are not distributed to students or families. *Youth Cheer Camp — Supporting an annual cheer camp for girls in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. *Mental Health & Wellness Initiatives — Supporting clinics, mentorship opportunities, and other programs designed to encourage students’ emotional well-being and personal growth. *Cheerleading Program Needs — Assisting with approved equipment and other needs that strengthen the GCA cheerleading program. *Future Student Opportunities — Supporting additional cheer, mentorship, and student-focused initiatives that align with the purpose of the fund. Through this fund, Mackenzie’s legacy continues by helping students feel valued, supported, and connected. It reflects GCA’s desire to partner with families, remove barriers to student participation, and provide opportunities that encourage students to grow in their gifts and in their relationship with Christ. Mackenzie’s family established this fund so that her love for Christian education, cheerleading, and encouraging others could continue to make a difference in the lives of GCA students for years to come. Established in 2026 in memory of Pastor Joseph William Stoll, affectionately known as “PJ” by his Genoa family, the Pastor Joe Scholarship honors a life devoted to faith, family, ministry, and service. For 41 years, Pastor Joe faithfully served others in full-time ministry. His roles included youth pastor, children’s pastor, worship leader, head pastor at Barnett Road Baptist Church, principal at Genoa Christian Academy, and executive pastor at Genoa Church. In every role, he was known for shepherding people with compassion, joy, and a heart centered on Christ. Joe was a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he studied music, and he later earned a Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty University. Music remained one of his lifelong passions, and his creativity, warmth, and sense of joy touched nearly every area of his life and ministry. Above all, Joe loved his family. He shared 43 years of marriage with his wife, Marcella, and treasured his children and grandchildren. His legacy is one of faith, laughter, music, generosity, and a deep love for people. Continuing His Legacy The Pastor Joe Scholarship provides financial assistance to deserving Genoa Christian Academy students, helping with tuition, fees, and other enrollment-related expenses. Through this scholarship, donors can help carry forward Pastor Joe’s commitment to Christian education and his belief in investing in the lives of young people. A gift to the Pastor Joe Scholarship is more than financial support. It is an opportunity to honor a life of faithful service while helping students continue their education in a Christ-centered environment where they can grow in faith, knowledge, and purpose. Through the Ohio Scholarship Granting Organization tax credit, you can help make a Christ-centered education at Genoa Christian Academy more accessible to families while receiving a credit toward your Ohio state income tax liability.
What Is the Scholarship Granting Organization Tax Credit?
Ohio allows taxpayers who make qualifying cash donations to a certified Scholarship Granting Organization to claim a nonrefundable state income tax credit.
Individuals may qualify for a credit of up to $750, while married couples filing jointly may qualify for up to $1,500—with each spouse limited to $750 in qualifying donations.
By making your gift through the Ohio Christian Education Network Scholarship Granting Organization (OCEN SGO) and designating Genoa Christian Academy, your contribution helps provide scholarships for students attending GCA.
How does it work?
Instead of simply paying your full Ohio income tax liability, you may be able to direct a portion of those dollars toward scholarships for students at Genoa Christian Academy.

2. Designate Genoa Christian Academy
Select Genoa Christian Academy so your gift can benefit scholarships for GCA students.
3. Keep your donation receipt
You will need documentation from the Scholarship Granting Organization when claiming
